I had received a text message from my client Lori that her husband was out of state on business and was in a very bad car accident. He’s was in intensive care & she had to leave immediately to be with him. Could I take care of their cat Cali? I didn’t hesitate to respond that I had Cali covered & I hoped he was okay. I knew me taking care of Cali was one less thing Lori would have to worry about. I already knew what to do to care for Cali & had the key to the house. Once things calmed down I was able to touch base with Lori and see how her husband was doing. I took care of Cali until they returned, and billed them once they were home
The Mingo family was expecting their first baby! Well of course Allie & Aspen their dogs were their first babies so who would care for them when Carissa went into labor? We had an idea of when Carissa was due to have the baby so we were easily able to fit the dogs into my schedule. All Chris & Carissa had to do was shoot us a text message that they were on the way to the hospital. Even if it was 2 am and we were asleep, we would get the message when we got up that morning & start taking care of the dogs. The Mingo’s just called or text us when it was convenient for them to touch base & give me status updates. We took care of the dogs until they were able to return home. We just settled up the bill once they were back. It once again was one less thing for these new parent to have to worry about.
Jennifer’s sister had been diagnosed with cancer. Jennifer had been visiting her sister for long weekends in Minnesota while she underwent her chemo treatments. One day Jennifer got the call her sister wasn’t do well & she had to fly to Minnesota immediately. Jennifer called/text us as soon as she hung up the phone asking me to care for her cat Connie, threw together a bag & literally ran out the door! We immediately took over care for Connie, & Jennifer was able to get to her sisters bed side to be with her. Jennifer notified me when her sister passed. We offered my condolences & continued to care for Connie until she was able to return after making sure her sisters affairs were in order.
Diana went into the hospital for a back surgery and ended up being there for more than the 24-48 hours she had expected. Her sister who was in from out of state was supposed to return home at the end of the week. Diana had nobody to care for her 2 dogs Toby & Moxie and her cat Gomez. Diana was reminded by neighbor and fellow client of Shannon’s Pet Sitting, Lorraine to call Shannon! Shannon’s Pet Sitting was able to care for Diana’s pets for the 3 weeks she was in medical care facilities.
All clients also receive ICE Cards (In Case of Emergency) to carry with them. These cards notify emergency personnel that in addition to family to also contact me as your pet sitter to go care for your pets should you become incapacitated in anyway.
