Lori’s Emergency Trip

Lori’s husband was out of state on business when he was involved in a serious car accident and ended up in intensive care. Lori needed to leave immediately to be with him, so she reached out to Shannon’s Pet Sitting to ask if they could care for their cat, Cali. Without hesitation, Shannon’s team assured Lori that they had Cali covered and wished her husband a swift recovery. Since they were already familiar with Cali’s care routine and had a key to the house, stepping in was simple. Once things settled down, they followed up with Lori to check on her husband’s condition. Shannon’s Pet Sitting continued to care for Cali until Lori returned home, and they simply settled the bill afterward.

The Mingo Family’s Baby Arrival

Mingo family

The Mingo family was expecting their first baby! Of course, Allie and Aspen, their dogs, were their first “babies,” so when Carissa went into labor, someone had to care for them. Since Shannon’s Pet Sitting had already been in touch with the Mingos about their due date, they were able to fit the dogs into their schedule easily. All Chris and Carissa had to do was send a quick text when they were heading to the hospital. Even if it was 2 a.m., Shannon’s team would see the message when they got up that morning and begin caring for the dogs. The Mingos kept in touch whenever they had time, and Shannon’s Pet Sitting continued to care for the dogs until they returned home. They simply settled the bill once everything had calmed down, giving these new parents one less thing to worry about.

Jennifer’s Urgent Family Situation

When Jennifer’s sister was diagnosed with cancer, Jennifer often traveled to Minnesota for long weekends to support her during chemotherapy. One day, Jennifer received a call that her sister’s condition had worsened, and she had to leave immediately. Jennifer quickly contacted Shannon’s Pet Sitting to care for her cat, Connie, before rushing out the door. Shannon’s team took over caring for Connie, giving Jennifer peace of mind while she was with her sister. Sadly, Jennifer’s sister passed away, and Shannon’s Pet Sitting continued to care for Connie until Jennifer returned home after settling her sister’s affairs.

Diana’s Unexpected Hospital Stay

Diana went into the hospital for back surgery, expecting to stay just 24-48 hours. Unfortunately, her stay stretched to three weeks. Diana’s sister, who had been visiting from out of state, was scheduled to return home before Diana was released. Unsure who could care for her pets — two dogs, Toby and Moxie, and her cat, Gomez — Diana was reminded by her neighbor Lorraine, a fellow client of Shannon’s Pet Sitting, to give them a call. Shannon’s Pet Sitting stepped in and cared for Diana’s pets until she was finally able to return home.

ICE Cards for Clients

All clients also receive ICE Cards (In Case of Emergency) to carry with them. These cards notify emergency personnel that, in addition to family, to also contact me as your pet sitter to go care for your pets should you become incapacitated in any way.

No Additional Charges for Emergency Services

There are no additional charges for my emergency on-call services. This is a specialized service they are happy to provide as a courtesy and perk for their established clientele and their pets. The only prerequisite for providing these services is that they must already have a key or access code to the home, and they must have previously cared for the pets.
